There is NO separate 'pool'; I list it under pool as well as hot tub because the water temp is adjustable to your liking, but it's a 6' diameter cowboy soaking tub–NOT a swimming pool. SUMMARY: This vintage 1930’s 1 bedroom 1 bath Truth or Consequences duplex is loaded with amenities & cheerful ambience, but the real draw is the adjustable temperature, all natural mineral water “cowboy” soaking tub & dual showers. This serene yet cheerful art-filled property boasts numerous flowering shrubs, trees & seating areas—some with a view of Turtleback Mountain—as well as a wood fire pit and gas BBQ grill (wood and propane provided!). Indoors boasts eclectic vintage décor, bright colors & artistic flairs. In the kitchen you’ll find a full-sized fridge, Keurig, microwave, toaster & electric range. Enjoy a 43” Samsung Smart TV & DVD player in the living room, while in the bedroom you’ll sleep in comfort on a new King size bed, which also features an electric fireplace, plush cotton robes, and even a washer & dryer! Pet-friendly with a nominal PER STAY fee of $40.00 for up to two dogs. Please advise if you have dogs and we will bill you. If we find you brought dogs without paying the fee, you will be charged a fee of $150 from the deposit (we've never had it happen and don't want it to. : )THE PROPERTY: Bedroom: King Bed / Living Room: Fold-down Sofa Bed with privacy fenced back yard.THE SPA AND BACK GARDEN: Upon arrival at Aquarius, you’ll probably want to head out to the large, private, fenced-in back garden, where you’re sure to spend most of your vacation. At the very back of the yard, the “cowboy” soaking tub & two “rain” showers are fed by the natural underground mineral springs well for which Truth or Consequences is renowned, and it’s the perfect way to soothe your sore muscles after a long day of sight-seeing. With separate hot/cold faucets for both the showers & the soaking tub, you can adjust the temperature to your liking as your mood and the weather changes. Sometimes it feels better to have a cool plunge (or long chill soak) than to sit in hot water when the summer heat is upon you–or even in the winter with the strong high desert sunshine. This recently updated home is located in what is officially known as the Hot Springs Historic District, but this particular water-well tapped into a cooler pocket of the aquifer, so every drop is natural mineral water—no city water added! Water is heated with an on-demand heater pumping directly from the mineral water well. The water feels silky and buoyant around your body. A bit of wonderful natural silt sinks to the bottom of the tub; scoop some up and rub it over your skin (especially your feet) to enjoy a fabulous scrub experience during your many soaks; there are spas that charge high dollars for that! And if you’ve never had an au naturel shower, you’re in for a treat! There’s nothing quite the feel of the breeze flowing over your body as you stand under the rain-shower-heads.THE BEDROOM: New Nectar King-size bed with added pillow-top & true 'pillow menu'. Electric fireplace with remote that controls heat & flames separately. Make-up table w/2 mirrors & chair. Chest of drawers, end tables, lamps, high quality hangers & 2 cotton robes in closet. About the neighborhood
This is an excellent location from which to take leisurely walks and bike rides, whether towards the Rio Grande (right on Daniels or left on Clancy will take you different places–Rotary Park on the Rio Grande with walkbridge or around the road to the stairs up to the Mesa on the Healing Waters Trail), or the couple short blocks to downtown where you can find many restaurants, quirky shops and art galleries, the local brewery and grocery store. Drive out to Elephant Butte Lake (Marina del Sur or Dam Site Recreation Area and Winding Roads), up to Hillsboro or Kingston (call ahead to see if Hillsboro Cafe is open that day for lunch or Black Range Winery for tasting), Monticello or Cuchillo. Take scenic Hy 187 to Shattuck Vineyard, Caballo.
If you plan to arrive in T or C without a car, you can inquire about the use of the two bicycles to get most places you want to go–at a very reasonable rental rate of $15 for BOTH for the duration of your stay, or one week, whichever is shorter.
Upon payment, you will be give the code to the combo on the bike chain and the tires will be properly inflated just prior to your arrival. There's a backpack in the bedroom closet if you go to Bullock's Grocery Store.
If you want to venture up to Walmart or out to the lakes, a car would be nice, but you can also get a ride on the Solar Buzz, the state's only solar-powered bus! I can't post their # here due to site rules but ask me after booking if interested.

Bathroom Planner: A Private Oasis to Suit All Your Needs
For many, renovating the bathroom is a process that they dread from, as it involves a lot of money and banging of the hammer.
However,if you stop looking at the refurbishment of your bathroom as a great hassle, you will soon find out that this is a great opportunity to turn over the ambiance of the entire house.
Basically, if you plan ahead for all the new features that you are going to introduce, there is really nothing to be afraid of.
A carefully drawn up bathroom ensures that you create a private oasis to suit all your needs without spending too much money and with the ability to use the bathroom again as soon as possible after the renovation work is done. There are several things that you need to plan for but if you are unsure where to start from, we offer these 5 simple tips on how to go about your upcoming bathroom renovation.
Adding a statement piece
In interior design, it is all about balance. Balance of shapes, balance of colors, and balance of sizes. However, if you wish to make a bold décor statement, you should introduce one piece of furniture that will be nothing else in the room.
In most cases, homeowners choose an antique mirror as their statement piece because of the decorations on the frame, its vintage color of grey, gold or black, and its sheer size. Essentially, such a vanity piece does not belong there, which is precisely why you should introduce it to your bathroom.
You can use a vintage chandelier instead of an oversized mirror, but whatever your statement piece is, make sure it becomes the focal point of the entire bathroom.
Mixing the colors up
Unless you are really picky, you will have probably decided on the standard white color pattern for the bathroom: white washbasin, white tiles, white shower /bathtub etc. There is nothing wrong with this staple design but you are going to have to add some colors to the bathroom palette.
For instance, the shower curtain could feature a jungle motif with a lot of green elements. The towels should not be white but rather blue or grey just to break the “whiteness” of the whole room.
Think of new details you introduce as a chance to accentuate that part of the bathroom with some color, as even toothpaste and the toothbrush can be of different color. Every little detail counts!
Introducing a bidet
If you are searching for a feature that is innovative, health-beneficial, and intimate, then a bidet is just the thing you need. Don’t believe all the negative stereotypes about it, as they are a standard feature in many households.
People who already own a bidet consider it far superior to the conventional toilet bowl, mainly because of the health benefits. Cleaning your intimate parts is much easier with a soothing jet of water than by the use of rough toilet paper.
Installing a comfortable bidet toilet seat is beneficial for people who are especially prone to skin irritation, such as small children, pregnant women, and seniors.
A bidet enables older people to become independent and use the toilet on their own, while pregnant women find it easier to simply press a button than to make a full body twist to clean themselves.
The outdoors inside your bathroom
Because the main purpose of a bathroom is to provide you with a space where you can relax, natural elements are more than welcome.Besides placing a flower pot here and there, there are other rustic design features that you can introduce.
Even an image of a plant, a fern, would look good on the wall, as it will usher the color green that we spoke about earlier. The laundry basket can be woven and made from natural elements and because of its size, it will definitely leave a huge impact on the overall atmosphere.
Finally, somewhere in the corner of the bathroom, you could place araw-wood stool that would complete the outdoor look you were trying to achieve.
A bold solution: a black and white décor
Truth be told, the more elements and colors that are involved, it is easier to create bathroom décor. With so many features to play with, anyone could create a pleasant atmosphere. However, if uniqueness is what you are trying to achieve, try to decorate the bathroom using only two colors: black and white.
This might seem challenging at first but remember that you already have the white background that now requires a splash of black. Start from the edges, the shower, the bathtub, or the windows, as they can be painted black.
When it comes to fixtures faucets and valves, you might have to engage in some online shopping before you find these features in the color black.
The private oasis you are going for is not that hard to pull off if you approach the renovation of the bathroom in a serious way. Remember,it is all about the right planning!
